RATING: 4 out of 5

If this episode of Saturday Night Live proved anything, it’s that serious, two-time Academy Award nominee Jonah Hill isn't ashamed of funny, goofy Jonah Hill from non-Oscar movies like Superbad, 21 Jump Street and This Is The End.

This time Jonah left the attitude back in Los Angeles and brought the laughs – as well as his buddy Leonardo DiCaprio. Yes, Leo was in the building, drawing Beatlemania-like screams from audience.

Here are the high and low-lights:

COLD OPEN:

No Obama, no problem.
The show opener lacked any mention of ObamaCare, the Senate, or the dysfunctional House of Representatives – and boy was that refreshing.  This week the first slot featured a spoof on the Sochi Olympics and an all-heterosexual figure skating team. With the gay figure skaters staying home because of Russia’s anti-gay stance, Team USA was left with dudes playing air guitar, eating “Combos” snacks, and air humping on the ice.

MONOLOGUE:

Well, well, well: Look who finally found his way to the SNL stage. It’s Leonardo DiCaprio, everybody! While he didn’t stay long – his guest spot was long enough to poke fun at Hill, his Wolf of Wall Street co-star, and shame him for acting like a “big shot.” Memories of that jerky interview Hill gave to Rolling Stone last summer came to mind as some of Hill’s recent diva “big shot” behaviour, so the jab was perfect. The monologue ended with Hill and DiCaprio recreating that iconic scene on the helm of the Titanic, with Hill as Kate Winslet’s stand-in. Oscar campaigning at its finest.

BEST SKETCH: COUPLE’S QUIZ!

Lately, game show skits on SNL have been a good time to go to the bathroom, but this week, the game show skit was ABOUT going to bathroom, so it was funnier than usual. Kenan Thompson played a very angry host who wouldn’t start the game until somebody admitted to clogging up the toilet backstage. Hill’s character finally admitted to doing the deed, revealing he clogged it and then made another mess on top of the clog. People like toilet talk - just look at Dumb & Dumber’s box office numbers.

WORST SKETCH: INSIDE SoCAL

This pre-recorded video featuring rookies Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney as frat boys hosting a cable/internet show at their friend’s condo party missed the mark. The best part of the video was Hill. His character (another frat boy) got emotional about his dad the way only a bro can - by calling him his “No. 1 gangster.” If the digital short focused more on Hill and less on, say, that “film reviewer,” it could have worked.

OTHER SURPRISES:

Weekend Update had a lot of fun cracking jokes about Justin Bieber this week. With Bieber’s smiley mug shot on screen, Seth Meyers quipped “Well this looks like the face of a guy who’s learned his lesson.” Perfect, but they weren’t done yet. Thompson pretended to be one of Bieber’s arresting officers, and ripped Bieber’s dad, Jeremy as a giant d-bag for partying with his son in the hours before his DUI. The big dig? Bieber's dad is really more of a “Jeremy” than a father. Ouch.

Michael Cera reunited with his “Superbad” co-star Hill in a hilarious spoof of “Her,” playing a robot doppelganger of Joaquin Phoenix’s character. It was nice seeing "Seth" and "Evan" again.
