Bill Harris' TV must-sees for the week of July 6

1. The Amazing Race Canada

Season-two debut: Eleven new teams are competing, including a pair of Canadian national women's hockey team members, a ballet star, and a guy named Bob Hope, but not that Bob Hope.

When: Tuesday on CTV

2. Extant

Debut: Halle Berry continues the tide of movie stars moving to TV. This is a mystery thriller about a female astronaut trying to reconnect with her family when she returns after a year in outer space.

When: Wednesday on CBS, Global

3. Welcome to Sweden

Debut: Bruce (Greg Poehler, Amy's little brother) crosses the ocean with his Swedish girlfriend Emma (Josephine Bornebusch) when she moves back home. Cultural hilarity is the goal.

When: Thursday on NBC, Comedy

4. The Bridge

Season-two debut: Sonya (Diane Kruger) meets a man connected to her past, while Marco (Demian Bichir) discovers he no longer is safe in his own department. Not sure what took him so long.

When: Wednesday on FX Canada

5. Finding Carter

Debut: Carter (Kathryn Prescott) is shocked when a police bust at a party reveals that her single mother Lori (Milena Govich) abducted Carter as a child. Um, so, anyone staying for dessert?

When: Tuesday on MTV, Friday on CTV

6. Hemlock Grove

Season-two debut: The town must come to grips with the shocking massacre incurred by one of its deadliest creatures. So I guess a big "Up with Hemlock Grove" PR campaign won't be enough.

When: Friday on Netflix

7. Secrets and Lies

Canadian debut: Six-episode Australian series follows family man Ben (Martin Henderson), who is astonished that people actually believe he's guilty of the murder of a four-year-old boy.

When: Monday on CBC

8. The Beaver Brothers

Debut with back-to-back episodes: This has nothing to do with bite-happy Uruguayan soccer star Luis Suarez. It's a reality series about an eccentric Nova Scotia trio that battles critters.

When: Monday on Animal Planet

9. Miley Cyrus: Bangerz Tour

Debut: This is billed as an "unprecedented behind-the-scenes special, focusing on Cyrus’ concerts in Barcelona, Spain and Lisbon, Portugal.” I'm assuming this twerks for someone.

When: Sunday on NBC

10. Witches of East End

Season-two debut: With the portal to Asgard open, what comes through will change the lives of the Beauchamp family forever. Okay, why does the term “portal to Asgard” make me giggle?

When: Sunday on Lifetime
