Love them or hate them, they want to come back and they need your vote to do so, well, sorta.
Believe it or not, 20 former 'Big Brother' players are willing to be locked away in a house on the CBS Studio City lot in California all summer long again for a chance to play for the $500,000 U.S. grand prize.
On last night's special casting episode of 'Big Brother 7: All-Stars', CBS revealed the 20 former HouseGuests viewers will get to choose from. The selections span all six seasons. Of the 20, there are just two former winners though. The infamous Will 'Dr. Evil' Kirby from the second season and Lisa Donahue the winner of season three.
To nobody's surprise, 'Big Brother 6' got the most nominations with James Rhine, Janelle Pierzina, 'Jar Jar' Howie Gordon, Ivette Corredero, and one of the most popular HouseGuests ever, Kaysar Ridha, getting the nod. The first season had but one: the memorable 'Chicken' George Boswell. Despite receiving the fewest nominations, 'Big Brother 1' did take a large step forward as the producers formally acknowledged there was a season before they took over the reins...and it wasn't that bad either.
Several second place finishers made their presence felt as well with Alison Irwin, Michael 'Cowboy' Ellis, Ivette Corredero and the notorious Danielle Reyes all scoring spots on the short list.
Probably the most startling nomination of all was Marcellas Reynolds, the host of the CBS Internet show, 'House Calls'. If the colourful media personality is selected to participate, it is unknown who will take over his 'House Calls' hosting duties.
Until 11:59 PM ET/8:59 PM PT on June 28th, viewers can cast votes for their favourites at CBS.com . Fans are permitted to vote every day until the polls close. Of the 12 HouseGuests starting 'Big Brother 7: All-Stars', only six (three men and three women) will be pulled from the America's Choice votes though. The producers will select the other six. This, of course, should give fans a clue as to how to effectively cast their votes.
During the series premiere on July 6th, all 20 finalists will be present outside the 'Big Brother' house as host Julie Chen announces which 12 will immediately start playing the game again.
During its eighth season, CBS' 'Survivor' also ran an 'All-Star' season. Two of the significant patterns in that game were that the former winners didn't last long and there wasn't room for gentler moments with the unmerciful gameplay dominating the season.
