One "Big Brother" HouseGuest has escaped the web of lies.
Viewers of the "Big Brother" 24/7 live Internet feeds saw Danielle Reyes win the endurance competition that began at the conclusion of Thursday's broadcast.
"I am the black widow!" shouted Danielle after Howie Gordon and Erika Landin dropped out. It took two hours and ten minutes to complete the competition.
In a web rope construction attached to a boom mechanism that tilted it this way and that, the endurance challenge forced the HouseGuests to stay on the web as long as they could while a mechanical spider above them randomly sprayed foam. At approximately two hours into the challenge, the producers made the HouseGuests hang from the web ropes instead of reclining on them.
The first five HouseGuests that left the competition got to choose from five eggs. One egg contained $10,000 U.S. One entitled the winner to avoid eating slop for a week. Another egg could be used to cancel someone's vote and the rest were "rotten" and useless.
Will "Dr. Evil" Kirby was the first to leave the web at only approximately ten minutes into the competition. His explanation? He was "bored". Will selected an egg and got a rotten one. James won the ability to nullify a vote, Marcellas scored the slop pass and Mike took home the money.
On this Sunday's episode, Danielle's nominations and the result of the endurance competition will be shown.
Prior to the Head of Household competition, events outside the "Big Brother" house once again had an effect on the game. Diane Henry was sent to the Couch of Shame and one of the factors was an Internet spat she had with Head of Household, Janelle Pierzina.
"I really thought there was a good chance we could be friends," said Diane of Janelle to host Julie Chen. "She decided to make things personal. There were things outside of the game that hurt me inside of the game."
Diane explained that she took offence to Janelle's comments about her during the "Big Brother 6" season, she spoke out about it in a 2006 interview and that is the reason Janelle targeted her.
"She talked a lot of bad things about me on her season and I found out. She wanted to apologize but it wasn't sincere at all. I said that every time it comes up it sours me out a little. She decided that was the reason she should put me up," Diane said.
When questioned about the controversial "Mr. And Mrs. Smith Alliance", Diane claimed she was not in on the pact at all.
"I think Jase thought it existed and I knew nothing about it," she revealed. "I was never asked about it. I would have liked to have been part of it."
In her parting comments, Diane took a swipe at Janelle.
"I want that karma boomerang to come around and knock Janelle out of the game," she said.
With Diane's eviction, all of the returning Season Five HouseGuests have been voted out of the game.
Julie Chen announced a new and welcome twist in the "Big Brother" game. Next week, the "Coup de Tat" title will be introduced. Chen said it give a HouseGuest the option of toppling the current Head of Household.
