‘Big Brother’ is coming back.
CBS confirmed today that the summer reality series has been picked up for an eighth season which is due to begin this July.
Despite numerous live production flubs last season, Julie Chen will return as the series host.
Venerable series producers Arnold Shapiro and Allison Grodner will be changing roles with ‘Big Brother 8’. Shapiro is reducing his role to that of executive consultant while Grodner and Rich Meehan take over all of the executive production duties.
After 71 days and 1,704 hours of living in the ‘Big Brother’ house last season, Mike "Boogie" Malin, the 35-year-old restaurateur and member of the infamous ‘Chill Town Alliance’, was crowned the winner of ‘Big Brother: All-Stars’ and took home the $500,000 prize. Erika Landin, the pilates instructor and Mike’s “showmance” in the house scored second place and $50,000.
