For the second time this season, 'Big Brother 3' HouseGuest Amy Crews - the 23-year-old real estate appraiser from Memphis, Tennessee - has been evicted from the summer-long game.
On last night's live broadcast, Jason Guy, the only HouseGuest permitted to vote, chose to bring former L.A. bartender Lisa Donahue into the "final three". By winning the Head Of Household title last week, Danielle Reyes - the 30-year-old media buyer - already secured herself a position in the coveted trio.
"I do care about you both very, very much. This week has been, in my opinion, the greatest week and the most fun week and I really feel bonded and connected to both of you. I want to say congratulations to the both of you for making it to the final week. There is six days so no matter what happens, I will see you guys in six days. With that being said, I vote to evict you, Amy," said Guy when the moment came to cast his vote.
Evicted for the first time on August 2nd, Crews won a special and controversial competition to return to the 'Big Brother 3' house and the game on August 16th. Nominated for eviction six times, Crews never desired to win the half-a-million dollar grand prize. The exposure and experience were enough for her.
"I never expected to make it to the final four. I never expected to make it past my first eviction and so this has been such an experience for me. Every moment has been wonderful," Crews told 'Big Brother 3' host Julie Chen.
For the fun-loving Southern Belle being in the 'Big Brother' house matured her as a person.
"I just learned a lot of very important life lessons in the house. Lessons that I will take with me," said Crews.
In the final, three part Head Of Household competition, the remaining HouseGuests (Reyes, Guy and Donahue) were required to sit in small lifeboats floating in a pool and hold onto their 'Big Brother' keys in an endurance challenge. The winner will advance to the finals of the Head Of Household competition while the losers must face off against each other in the second round to be held on Friday. 'Big Brother 3' host Julie Chen seemed to mix-up the rules on live television instructing the HouseGuests that they could switch hands during the first three hours. Guy was the first out of the competition when he mistakenly took his hand off his key at the 43 minute mark. This left Reyes and Donahue to battle it out. At 2:04 a.m E.D.T., Danielle and Lisa were still in the pool.
On Saturday's live show, the Head Of Household competition will be completed and the winner will decide which HouseGuest they will take into the final two. On the series finale next Thursday, all of the evicted HouseGuests return to vote on who they think is deserving of winning 'Big Brother 3' and the half-a-million dollar prize. If the vote ends in a tie, the viewers will cast the deciding vote in a phone poll.
The 'Big Brother' house is outfitted with 38 cameras and 62 microphones that record the lives of the 12 contestants 24 hours a day for three months. The goings-on are broadcast on TV as well as on the Internet. Each week the contestants vote one of their own out until just two are left.
Will Kirby, a 28-year-old physician from Florida -- nicknamed 'Doctor Evil' by fans -- was chosen as the winner of last year's "Big Brother 2" and was awarded the grand prize of $500,000. Nicole, the 31-year-old personal chef from Atlanta, took home second place and $50,000.
Eddie McGee, the New Yorker who lost his left leg to cancer, won a half million dollars as the winner of the first U.S. "Big Brother".
