The remaining "Big Brother 3" HouseGuests at the start of the broadcast were:
1. Danielle Reyes: Media buyer.
2. Lisa Donahue: Former bartender.
Sometimes it pays to play nice. Lisa Donahue, the 26-year-old former L.A. bartender turned photographer, had a picture perfect win on last night's finale of the summer-long reality show 'Big Brother 3' taking home the grand prize of $500,000.
A jury comprised of the ten evicted HouseGuests served Lisa the win by a nine to one vote over her rival in the finals -- Danielle Reyes, the 30-year-old media buyer from California. For coming in second place, Reyes won $50,000. Jason Guy, the 24-year-old videographer from Alabama, and Reyes' alliance partner in the game was the only vote cast in favour of Reyes who admitted to lying and backstabbing throughout the competition.
"When I brought Danielle with me to the final two and she confessed her sins, I was nervous. I was like....Okay, she's a good player and she is a great and wonderful person," said Donahue to 'Big Brother 3' host Julie Chen.
Surprisingly, Donahue never applied to be on 'Big Brother 3' but was recruited by the producers along with several of the other HouseGuests to fill out the cast for this season. With last night's victory, Donahue becomes the first woman to ever win the American version of 'Big Brother'.
Speaking to Chen, Reyes said that even after seeing how things turned out she wouldn't have played the 'Big Brother' game any other way. She was not shocked by the jury vote at all even though the manipulative and devious Will Kirby ("Doctor Evil" as he was nicknamed by fans) was picked as the winner of last year's series soley for his gameplay.
"I'm not shocked. I knew she (Lisa) played a good game and I did alot of bad things. I thought this year would be different and I just knew she was going to win," said Reyes. "It just proves a point that a good person can win it. You don't have to play hard."
Already making plans for another 'Big Brother' series next summer, CBS has posted an application form for perspective players to fill out on their Web site.
In the 'Big Brother' show, contestants must remain in a house on the CBS Studio in California for three months without contact with the outside world. The 'Big Brother' house is outfitted with 38 cameras and 62 microphones, which record the lives of the 12 contestants 24 hours a day. The goings-on are broadcast on TV as well as over the Internet.
Each week the contestants vote one of their own out until just two are left. The final surviving HouseGuests are then subjected to a final vote.
Will Kirby, a 28-year-old physician from Florida won last year's 'Big Brother 2' and was awarded the grand prize of $500,000. Nicole, the 31-year-old personal chef from Atlanta, took home second place and $50,000.
Eddie McGee, the New Yorker who lost his left leg to cancer, won a half million dollars as the winner of the first U.S. 'Big Brother' after the viewers and not a jury of evicted HouseGuests voted for him during a finale phone poll.
