TV Show: Bachelor

'The Bachelor' controversy erupts
By TARA MERRIN - Sun Media

Amber Alchalabi and Andy Baldwin cozy up on the sand. But alas, it shall soon all go awry.

Poor Amber Alchalabi.

The 23-year-old Texan, one of four girls left fighting for the affections of The Bachelor, is not only (apparently) being stood-up by her ma and pa on next week's episode, she's costing people their jobs.

It turns out the principal of the elementary school at which Amber works has resigned after being demoted as punishment for allowing the fourth-grade teacher to take 22 days off to shoot the series.

Controversy erupted after parents of Amber's students discovered she was absent not because she "caring for a sick aunt," as stated in a letter to the families, but looking for love on a reality show.

The parents say The Bachelor does not promote moral values and to exploit the children during the filming of the show is unacceptable.

While the school district has not taken action against the bachelorette, a fairytale ending for Amber is unlikely.

Swingin' single Andy Baldwin appears to be leaning toward Bevin and Tessa as his final two.

And this week's home visits likely won't change his mind. In the footage from the episode, in which the final four (above mentioned, and Danielle) introduce Prince Charming to mom and dad, Amber is shown near tears, saying how much she wanted to introduce Andy to her folks.

Looks like the school board is not the only Texan with a hate-on for The Bachelor.
