TV Show: Bachelor

'Bachelor' girls shiver in Canada
By Samie Durnford, QMI Agency

'The Bachelor' Sean Lowe and all the lucky ladies. (ABC)

On Tuesday’s episode of the Bachelor we go north to Canada!

Sean whisks the remaining girls to Alberta where he wastes no time taking Catherine on the first one-on-one date of the evening.

Driving through Jasper National Park, Sean arrives to pick Catherine up in the middle of a snowstorm on a big ol’ bus. In true Canadian fashion (I guess) he takes her to hang out on a real live Canadian glacier. They make snow angels, talk about “what they want” and hit it off.

At dinner (post-carriage ride), Catherine opens up about her life and Sean is instantly smitten.

Wait, isn’t he always?

He gives her the rose and they kiss in front of some ice sculptures. The dates seem to be getting shorter and shorter these days.

On the group date, Sean takes the girls canoeing where Sarah proves she really can do anything with just one arm, canoeing like a champ.

He takes the girls on a ‘polar bear plunge,’ which he says is a true Canadian tradition. Selma refuses to do it, but the other girls jump in despite their worries about the cold water.

Tierra gets out of the water and can’t breath. She gets carried away and taken to the hospital. Is it a ploy for attention? No one can really tell.

Desiree and Catherine who were back at the house run down to see Tierra and the pair say Tierra looked like she was “in a horrible state.” Maybe Tierra wasn’t playing games after all.

However, as soon as Sean visits her upstairs in the hotel Tierra perks to life and he jumps in bed with her.

She’s all smiles.

On the group date, all of the girls are pleased Tierra didn’t show up. More time with Sean for them! But, they weren’t so lucky. Tierra got bored and decided to crash the party yet again. No one was happy to see her except for Sean. Her antics don’t get her a rose, though. Lesley ends up taking the group date rose and is safe for the night.

After the date, he takes Sarah to the side and tells her that when she kissed him, he didn’t feel a spark and decides it’s time for her to go home. He says he wants to spare her waiting until the rose ceremony. She takes it really well and says goodbye.

Next up, Desiree has a one-on-one date. This is her second one of the season. Sean takes her repelling down a 400-foot (122-metre) mountain to get to their dinner. They make it to the bottom safely (obviously) and enjoy the classic romantic night post-adventure. She says all the right things and snags a rose.

At the pre-rose ceremony cocktail party, Selma decides to kiss Sean despite the fact that it’s against her culture and she refused to on their date. Sean is pleasantly surprised. Lindsay also snags a cute kiss and AshLee isn’t too far behind.

In the end, Selma and Daniella get sent home along with Sarah who got the boot earlier.

Still around: Lindsay, AshLee, Lesley, Desiree, Catherine and Tierra.

Next week? The girls are heading to the Virgin Islands. The drama can only heat up from here!
