Marg Helgenberger will make her final regular appearance as Catherine Willows on CSI this Wednesday, Jan. 25, on CBS and CTV.

“It’s a breakup, but not a bad breakup,” Helgenberger said of her decision to leave the show after 11 and a half seasons.

“Perhaps I’ll come back at some point, in a special episode here or there. But I’m very aware of how special it has been.”

Helgenberger’s final episode is titled Willows in the Wind. Viewers will see Catherine bid an emotional farewell to the CSI team after making a life-changing decision and wrapping up one last case.

Helgenberger is one-half of the original duo that made CSI so popular when it debuted back in 2000. William Petersen, who played Gil Grissom, left the show as a regular during its ninth season.

Ted Danson currently is the male lead on CSI. Following Helgenberger’s exit, Academy Award nominee Elisabeth Shue will be introduced as a new character on Feb. 15.
