Daily Planet is hoping there’s no risk in Riskin.

New co-host Dan Riskin joins Ziya Tong as the 17th season of Daily Planet debuts Monday, Aug. 29 on the Discovery Channel. Riskin replaces longtime co-host Jay Ingram, who retired last spring.

As the Discovery Channel’s flagship series in Canada, Daily Planet will continue to investigate everything wild and wacky that the earth has to offer, with the help of Riskin as well as a new 360-degree, multi-level, interactive set.

Riskin is an Edmonton native and award-winning evolutionary biologist. To lovers of scientific TV - or at least scientific segments on TV - Riskin is known not only as the host of Monsters Inside Me (on Discovery Science in Canada), but also for his talk-show appearances, including The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
