Jason Jones and Samantha Bee, hosting the Canadian Comedy Awards' 10th Anniversary Special.

As Samantha Bee points out, “Canada is a funny place, full of a lot of funny people.”
To which Jason Jones adds, “That’s why we were never successful up here.”
The exchange takes place during the Canadian Comedy Awards 10th Anniversary Special, which airs Saturday on the Comedy Network.
Bee and Jones — a real-life married couple who are introduced as “Two of Canada’s most valuable exports, because ... they’ve ... done some stuff on The Daily Show” — hosted the live CCA event in Toronto last November.
Bee has been featured on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart since 2003, while Jones has been there since 2005.
“I missed you, Canada; America’s funny, sensitive, gay friend who lives up in the attic,” Bee says.
Not all things Canadian get the kiss-butt treatment, however.
“French Canadian comedy is like German erotica,” Jones observes. “It exists, but it is so painful to watch.”
Besides Bee and Jones, the CCA 10th anniversary special features the comedy of Nathan MacIntosh, Graham Clark, Kate Davis, Tim Steeves and sketch troupe The Imponderables. There also are clips from past memorable Beaver Award moments.
