It’s still a 'Deal' for Howie’s show
By BILL HARRIS - Sun Media

When asked the question “Deal Or No Deal?” Canadians continue to say “Deal!”

The second episode of the game show Deal Or No Deal Canada drew a more-than-healthy 2.2 million viewers to Global on Thursday night.

That’s down only slightly from the debut number of 2.7 million last Sunday, when the Super Bowl served as the lead-in.

On Thursday Deal Or No Deal Canada was preceded on Global by the debut of Survivor: Fiji (simulcast with CBS), and it garnered 2.6 million.

Still, the top-watched show in Canada Thursday was the seemingly unstoppable CSI, which pulled in 3.6 million on CTV (simulcast with CBS).

Another success story for CTV on Thursday was the first episode of a three-episode arc on Grey’s Anatomy, which attracted 2.17 million even though it wasn’t a simulcast (Canadian fans had the option of watching Grey’s Anatomy later in the evening on ABC).

A total of five episodes of Deal Or No Deal Canada, with Howie Mandel as the host, were taped last month in Toronto. The remaining three episodes will be shown on the next three Thursdays.
