BEVERLY HILLS -- Howie Mandel soon will have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but he admitted he checks the list for Canada's Walk of Fame very carefully every year.
"I've been watching, I'm aware of it, I've been waiting for the call," Mandel said. "My mom says she has been submitting me. Maybe she doesn't have the address right."
Mandel recently earned an Emmy Award nomination for his work hosting Deal or no Deal (NBC, Global). Also coming up next season he'll have a new comedy series called Howie Do It, which is an NBC-Global co-production.
His addition to the Hollywood Walk of Fame was announced last year, but the official ceremony is on the horizon.
"That's Sept. 4 and then Sept. 21 is the Emmys," Mandel said. "It's so cool. I'm excited."
As for Canada's Walk of Fame, Mandel said wistfully, "One day -- and then who knows? The next level, Sunshine Boy (in Sun papers)."
So let's get this straight: The levels of importance, in ascending order, are Hollywood Walk of Fame, Canada's Walk of Fame, and Sunshine Boy?
"That's what I'm looking for," Mandel said.
