TV twin actors face kid porn rap
Police worry there may be more victims

Donald and Ronald Croft.

TORONTO - Identical twins known for their television appearances have been arrested on child porn charges, Toronto Police said yesterday.

Both men were arrested in late May and are now out on bail but investigators are concerned about the possibility of there being other victims, said Det.-Const. Jeff Kidd of the Toronto Police sex crimes unit.

"We're hoping there aren't any others -- but we're concerned that it is possible and we wanted to get the word out to warn the public," Kidd said.

The police investigation started three years ago, in coordination with the National Child Exploitation Centre and Interpol, and in May search warrants were issued for a house on Lupin Dr., near Warden Ave. and Hwy. 401.

Ronald and Donald Croft, both 40, were arrested and charged on May 28 with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and possession of marijuana.

The brothers bill themselves as the Twin Brothers or the Twin Actors and have appeared on Degrassi -- The Next Generation, as well as a show called Life With Derek.

They have also done commercials and the pair has their own YouTube channel.

The Twin Channel has short clips from their TV appearances as well as a collection of videos the two have made themselves.

The pair have also made numerous live appearances as a musical act using the name The Twin Brothers.

Investigators are also concerned because the Crofts have had access to children through a piano school run by a family member, Kidd said.

Parents who are concerned about past involvement their children may have had with one or both of the brothers should contact police, he said.

Anyone with information should contact Toronto Police at 416-808-8500 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477, online at www.222tips.com or text TOR and your message to CRIMES.
