Will Alpha's buff arms be enough to lift Dollhouse from the pit of cancellation?

The Joss Whedon series Dollhouse has its season-finale tonight on Global and Fox, and it could be a series-finale, too, if ratings on Fox in the U.S. are the sole determining factor. Dollhouse has left audiences a little cold, although creatively it has been better in the past few weeks than it was at the beginning of the season.

That's because the focus has been less on star Eliza Dushku's character, Echo. Dushku's physical attractiveness notwithstanding, in some ways Echo is the weakest part of Dollhouse.

Anyway, last week the identity of the mysterious and deadly Alpha, played by Alan Tudyk, was revealed. You know, when Alpha was disguising himself as a snivelling, cowardly scientist, we thought his arms were a tad too muscular!

In the finale tonight, Alpha's continued obsession with Echo may cost her everything.
