TV Show: Eli Stone

Katie Holmes guests on 'Eli Stone'
By BILL HARRIS - Sun Media

Katie Holmes will appear with Jonny Lee Miller on his series, Eli Stone, this season. Miller's real-life ex, Angelina Jolie, would be another great stunt-casting choice.

So we know that during the coming season of Eli Stone, Katie Holmes is going to be a guest star. That's quite a stunt-casting coup.

But the full-time star of Eli Stone, Jonny Lee Miller, used to be married to Angelina Jolie.

My God, that would be the stunt-casting coup of all time!

Has Miller ever called Jolie to ask if she would be interested?

"You'll have to call her, I'm afraid," Miller said.

Well, all-righty then! Just give us Angelina's number!

While we're waiting to hear back from Ms. Jolie, we can take the time to inform you that the second season of Eli Stone -- which best can be described as a singing-and-dancing dramedy -- will debut Tuesday on ABC, and across Canada on A, with one exception. Due to the timing of Canadian federal election coverage on Tuesday, the A affiliate in Toronto will show the premiere of Eli Stone tomorrow night.

On all A affiliates, Eli Stone will settle into its regular Tuesday time slot on Oct. 21. That's the episode, by the way, in which Holmes will appear.

In the debut episode of Eli Stone, which is titled The Path, Oscar-winner Sigourney Weaver guest stars as a therapist. Yeah, we know it's not Katie Holmes or Angelina Jolie, but we weren't in charge, OK?

The series picks up six months after Eli's successful brain surgery. As you'll recall, last season Eli experienced a series of musical visions -- many of which involved George Michael, who appeared as himself -- and Eli didn't know if they were related to a physical phenomenon, or something more spiritual.

As the second season begins, a crane crashes into a building, trapping Jordan (Canadian Victor Garber) inside. Oddly, it's Eli's brother Nate (Matt Letscher) who has a vision that identifies exactly where Jordan is.

When Nate has a brain aneurysm to go with his vision, both brothers truly are dumbfounded. This can't be a coincidence, can it?

"It always was our plan to end the first season with Eli having his aneurysm removed, and in the season premiere we take that issue head on," Eli Stone co-creator Greg Berlanti said. "We'll resolve pretty definitely whether or not Eli believes he's a prophet or not."

But Eli has not seen the end of his musical visitations, has he?

"No, by no means," Berlanti said.

Eli Stone also stars Canadian Natasha Henstridge as Eli's ex-fiancee Taylor and Julie Gonzalo as Eli's co-worker Maggie. It will be interesting to see how the Eli-Taylor-Maggie love triangle, which was in its infancy last season, progresses in season No. 2.

"We're all fighting for Eli Stone," Henstridge said. "We all want him."

Added Gonzalo, "We all want a little bit of attention from (Eli). I think we look up to him, so who knows? But there might be someone else in the running, so ... "

Wait a minute. Someone else in the running?

Do you know would be great for that role? Angelina Jolie!

Make the call, Jonny. Come on, man, make the call.
