"Everybody Loves Raymond" star Ray Romano is eying a return to the small screen to star in an HBO comedy series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Romano is contemplating a collaboration with the creators of the FOX drama "24" to create a 10-episode single-camera sitcom that will showcase Romano as a fortysomething billionaire who has six months to live.
The deal with HBO is not the first for Romano. He has appeared on the U.S. cable network to showcase his stand-up comedy routine early on in his career.
Romano's successful 9-year-stint on the CBS sitcom, "Raymond," was also co-produced by HBO.
After his "Raymond" stint ended last year, Romano has provided his voice for the animated feature hit, "Ice Age: The Meltdown," and he is also attached to star in an untitled comedy.
