Canadians rule in space. There's the legend himself, Montreal boy William Shatner, skipper of Star Trek. Now there's Edmonton-born Nathan Fillion, who plays Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds on the new Fox outer space oater Firefly. Episode two airs tonight on Global and Fox at 8 p.m.
"I actually met Shatner once," Fillion said earlier this week on the phone from the set in Los Angeles. A girlfriend in New York called and told him to get right over. When he got there he found Shatner spinning stories to a room full of guests.
