Things are getting hot and heavy between House and Cuddy leading up to the season finale.

So how will Dr. House and Dr. Cuddy's relationship change now that it has been, uh, consummated?

It has been a pretty heavy season for House in terms of subject matter, but there will be some amusing moments in the season finale tonight (Global, Fox). That's because at the end of last week's episode, Dr. House (Hugh Laurie) and his boss Dr. Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) had a post-detox romantic encounter.

"It is very much like a husband-wife relationship, like people who have been together for 50 years," Edelstein said. "There's a lot of bickering, but a lot of love underneath there."

Of course, Dr. House's best zingers tend to be reserved for Dr. Cuddy.

"Usually at my derriere," Edelstein said. "Sometimes they will come up to me ahead of time and warn me about an ass joke. They say, 'We don't want you to be worried, you aren't getting any wider, it's just for the joke.' "
