Mack Sennett, the legendary silent film director who gave the world the Keystone Kops and discovered a fella by the name of Charlie Chaplin, might have been a little baffled by the antics of Chicken Lady or the Head Crusher.
Then again, is there really that wide a chasm between smashing a cream pie into someone's face and pretending to crush their noggin between your thumb and index finger? Laughs are laughs, and either way you look at it, Kids in the Hall alumnus Mark McKinney would make an inspired choice to play the king of early comedy.
