Since the most recent episode of the new 90210 had a reference to Dylan, does that mean we'll be seeing Luke Perry as a guest-star soon?
"Uh, they own the name and likeness, sir," said Perry, who played Dylan in the original Beverly Hills 90210, during a conference call yesterday.
So, is that a yes or a no in terms of a future appearance?
"That would be a no," Perry said.
The conference call yesterday was arranged to promote the appearance of Perry and Sara Gilbert (Roseanne) as guest-stars in the season-premiere of Law & Order: SVU next Tuesday (CTV, NBC). Both Perry and Gilbert were asked if they ever get sick of being asked about their old shows.
"I've had some time lately to think about that kind of stuff," said Perry, 41. "When shows take off and become part of the American psyche, there's a time when it's happening that you're a little resentful for it, because you had no idea it possibly could get that big.
"But when you stop and look at the whole of your life, from that perspective I'm very proud of it. It gives you a neat relationship to the American public, it really does. It puts you on a little bit closer basis with all kinds of people, and the world could use more of that."
