Paris & Nicole lead celebrity feuds
By TARA MERRIN - Calgary Sun

It never forgives. It never forgets.

That’s the warning for anyone who invades the space of the evil spirit in The Grudge 2 and, until last week, it also appeared to be the motto of Paris Hilton.

Over the past couple of years, the hotel heiress has become almost as famous for her celebrity catfights as she has for, well, whatever it is she’s famous for.

Most recently, the blond Barbie doll came to blows with Dancing With the Star’s Shanna Moakler, who was allegedly ticked off after seeing a photo of Hilton kissing her estranged husband Travis Barker.

Hilton, who has now reportedly ended her relationship with the former Blink 182 drummer, filed a police report against Moakler claiming she had punched her in the face at a L.A. nightclub. In response, Moakler told police Hilton’s on/off boyfriend Stavros Niarchos pushed her down a flight of stairs and threw a drink over her.

While not exactly the behaviour of a true Hollywood starlet, it didn’t seem all the controversy has harmed Hilton’s I-really-am-a-good-girl reputation.

But, just to be sure, the party girl made a move certain to divert all the media attention away from her school girl antics — she had lunch with Nicole Richie.

Yes, it’s true. Not only did Richie eat, the girls are on the road to becoming BFFs again. They’ve even agreed to co-star in the fifth season of The Simple Life together.

“I love Nicole, and I’m so glad we’re friends again,” Hilton tells In Touch Weekly.

“I missed her, she’s like my sister — we’ve known each other 23 years. I’m glad we can put the feud behind us.”

While Hilton and Richie called it quits on their friendship in 2005, they’ve both kept quiet about the reasons why.

Regardless, it appears Hilton has put this grudge behind her, which is a good thing. Otherwise she’d have no extra time to plot her revenge against all the other Hollywood brats.

Here’s a look a at some other high profile grudges.

Heather Locklear vs Denise Richards

How it started: It all allegedly began earlier this year when Locklear’s best gal pal Richards encouraged her to leave her rocker husband Richie Sambora. Then, soon after Locklear filed for divorce, photos of Richards and Sambora smooching like teenagers emerged.

Chances of reconcile: While this feud might be too new to call an all-out grudge, chances are slim Locklear will ever forgive or forget.

Toby Keith vs Natalie Maines

How it started: The tiff between the two country music stars stems from Keith’s song Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue, which Maines publicly criticized. Keith retaliated by projecting images of Maines and Saddam Hussein on the big screen at his concerts. That inspired her to wear a T-shirt with the letters F.U.T.K. on it at the 2003 Academy of Country Music Awards.

Chances of reconcile: They never were buddies, it ain’t gonna happen ya’ll.

Kelly Osbourne vs Christina Aguilera

How it started: Kelly unleashed the wrath of Aguilera when she called the Dirrty singer a tramp on an episode of The Osbournes. Aguilera retaliated at the 2003 MTV Awards by throwing darts at a picture of Osbourne’s face. Ozzy’s daughter then went out and got a voodoo doll of the blond singer, to which Aguilera blasted, “Kelly must have a crush on me — she’s always saying mean things about me.”

Chances of reconcile: They’re destined to be best friends.

Tom Cruise vs Brooke Shields

How it started: In 2005, Cruise told Access Hollywood Shields’ use of anti-depressants to treat post-partum depression was dangerous, and damaging. Shields shot back: “Tom should stick to saving the world from aliens.”

Chances of reconcile: If Shields truly wants to damage her career, she’ll start hanging around with the sofa-jumper.

Janet Jackson vs Justin Timberlake

How it started: Jackson blames Timberlake for hanging her out to dry after Nipplegate — the boob-exposing incident, which took place during halftime at the 2004 Super Bowl.

Chances of reconcile: Good, if Timberlake does some serious sucking up.

Barbara Walters vs Star Jones Reynolds

How it started: On June 27, Jones Reynolds said on-air she would be leaving The View then she told People magazine, “I feel like I was fired.” The next day, Walters, who felt “betrayed” by Jones Reynolds’ honesty, announced the daytime diva was no longer on the talk show and quickly removed her from the opening credits and the ABC website.

Chances of reconcile: Never. While we hate sticking up for Jones Reynolds under any circumstance, Walter’s controlling ways needed to be known.

Michael Douglas vs Brangelina

How it started: In a March GQ interview, Douglas dissed Pitt by saying, “I don’t know about Brad Pitt, leaving that beautiful wife (Jennifer Aniston) to go hold orphans for Angelina.” Pitt and Jolie, who have not responded publicly, are reportedly a little miffed.

Chances of reconcile: Great. Douglas has already backpedalled, claiming he was misquoted and considers Pitt to be a very good friend.

Lindsay Lohan vs Hilary Duff

How it started: After Duff split from Aaron Carter, Lohan grabbed him for her own, but the relationship ended when Carter cheated on her with, you guessed it, Duff. In response, Duff allegedly refused backstage access to Lindsay’s little sis at one of her shows and tried to have Lohan thrown out of a party for the premiere of Cheaper by the Dozen.

Chances of reconcile: They’ll kiss and make up when they appear on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Shannen Doherty vs everyone

The former Beverly Hills 90210 star has been known as a mean girl since leaving the show in 1994 amid tales of on-set spats with fellow-actors. She then departed the hit show Charmed after friction with her co-star Alyssa Milano and started a feud with Paris Hilton when she saw the heiress kissing her ex-husband, Rick Salomon. Hilton claims Doherty attacked her and covered her car in eggs, lipstick and Vaseline. Doherty retorted by saying she did not wear red lipstick, so it must have been someone else.

Chances of reconcile: Who cares.
