MONTREAL -- Jonathan Silverman remembers a time when best friend David Schwimmer was his friend, period - not the best-known "Friend" on the planet.
"Why am I here?" the star of NBC's The Single Guy says, repeating a question on the eve of hosting a gala at this city's Just For Laughs fest. "Because David hosted it last year, and when they invited me I phoned him and asked how it was. And he said 'Great!' So that's good enough to convince me.
