Avast, me maties!
Reality series guru Mark Burnett has finally released details about his upcoming 'Pirate Master' series and it sounds suspiciously like another familiar show.
Set to debut on May 31st and taking over Survivor's timeslot on Thursday nights, the new CBS series will feature 16 players living as pirates for 33 days aboard a massive 179 foot boat.
Taking place in and around the Caribbean island of Dominica, the players will be tested by weekly challenges ("expeditions") as they work to find a hidden treasure. Winners of the challenges will be rewarded with real gold coins which can be used to barter for favours.
One pirate will become the captain each week and instruct the other players as to their roles on the ship. The crew is free to mutiny if they so desire.
Instead of Tribal Council at the end of every episode, the players will meet on the ship at the "Pirate's Court" and "cut someone adrift" or vote them off.
In the end, one player will be the first to find the largest booty, worth $500,000 U.S, and claim the title of "Pirate Master." Australian actor Cameron Daddo will host the series.
