Survivor's LAX no more
By -- JAM! Showbiz

With the boot of lawyer Alex Angarita, the LAX Alliance have all been retired to the 'Fiji' jury. (Photo Courtesy of: CBS.)

Nice knowing you, LAX. With the inevitable eviction of Alex Angarita, the testosterone fuelled, trash talking, blundering Latin-American Exchange Alliance is history.

The timing of the eviction couldn’t have been better with next week’s finale looming on Mother’s Day. Earl and the Gang will have no choice but to turn on one another. As the WWE’s Jim Ross is fond of saying…business is about to pick up in a major way. Oh, yeah.

On last night’s episode entitled ‘Smile, Velvet Gloves, and a Dagger in My Pocket’, the producers finally clued viewers in on the core alliance at the Bula Bula camp. The ‘Core Four‘, as they call themselves, consist of Cassandra Franklin, Earl Cole, Yau-Man Chan and 'Dre' Herd. Everyone else is just drift wood waiting to be cut loose. Thanks for coming out Stacy and Boo. You can pick up your complimentary prizes at the Loser Lodge.

Series underdog and fan favourite Yau-Man Chan ain’t too happy with his final four pals though. He foresees close friends Dreamz and Cassandra as being his downfall and he might be right. Right up until the Tribal Council vote, the hectic Dreamz was once again dangerously playing both sides against the middle by working a strategy with both Alex and Earl and the Gang. It is becoming quite clear that the untrustworthy Dreamz could be the most dangerous player left in the game.

The Survivors at the start of the broadcast were:

Bula Bula Tribe

1. Cassandra Franklin.
2. Earl Cole.
3. Yau-Man Chan.
4. 'Boo' Bernis.
5. Stacy Kimball.
6. 'Dre' Herd.
7. Alex Angarita

Bula Bula Tribal Happenings - Night 30

Earl didn’t like the way the vote was split at Tribal Council. Dreamz tries to count the votes and figure who voted for Mookie.

Alex: I had to go with my gut and vote against Mookie. It worked. I am still here.

Earl: That is the last time we split the vote. Of course, Mookie and Alex would vote for each other. Duh.

Alex and Stacy chat off on their own. Stacy says she will consider a deal with him.

Alex: They are all getting stressed out. I must have a smile, velvet gloves and a dagger in my pocket.

Bula Bula Tribal Happenings - Day 31

Alex lays around and does nothing…or at least that is what he wants his enemies to think. You see, he is really in “ninja mode”, eavesdropping and waiting. Ooookay. Wax on. Wax off, my friend.

Alex listens intently as Earl and Cassandra diss on Boo. They both like him but don’t trust him. A light bulb goes off above Alex’s head.

Earl and Cassandra agree that the ‘Core Four’ are them, Yau-Man and Dreamz. Yau-Man isn’t so sure that Dreamz is an honest guy. He explains to Cassandra that it doesn’t benefit him at all to be with Dreamz and Cassandra in the final four. He would rather take Stacy. He is just being honest. Cassandra understands where Yau-Man is coming from.

Cassandra: I trust Yau-Man but he is playing the game for himself. It is like “street ball” to him. He is playing to win.

Reward Challenge

Pork hangs from ropes. The players must bite off as many pieces as they can and deposit them on their plate. The one with the most meat and heaviest plate wins.

Reward

  • For those who finish in the top three: a helicopter ride to a white water rafting trip. They also get a picnic lunch. The person who scores first place has the ability to send someone to Exile Island and gets an advantage in the next Immunity Challenge.

    Result

Only Dreamz assists Alex for a bit. In the end, Boo: 9 pounds, Yau: 6, Cassandra: 5, Stacy: 4.3, Earl: 5, Dreamz: 6 and Alex: 5.3.

  • Winners: 1st: Boo. 2nd: Yau. 3rd: Dreamz.

Boo sends Earl to Exile Island. He is certain Earl will not hold the decision against him.

    Reward Happenings

Dreamz and Yau-Man enjoy the helicopter ride until Boo won’t stop talking. Dreamz pretends his headset is broken so Boo will cease his prattling. As they fly by Exile Island, Boo shouts out a greeting to Earl. The boys raft down a gorgeous valley and eat a large lunch on the shoreline. After they are done eating, the guide gives them letters from home. Yau-Man is happy to hear from his children. Everyone in Boo‘s family is well-fed and Dreamz is inspired by his sister. Dreamz: I know what I gotta do now. We hope so, Dreamz. We hope so because you are scaring us.

    Exile Island Happenings

Earl reads the latest clue which states that the Hidden Immunity Idol is in a tree where the tribe walks a lot. Earl cannot wait to get back to camp so he can begin his search.

Bula Bula Tribal - Tribal Happenings - Day 32

Dreamz, Stacy (Rita Repulsa), Yau-Man and Alex sit around and bitch about Boo. Alex: I am losing it. I cannot take his constant jabbering any more. Dreamz complains about Boo on the copter ride. Yau-Man says it almost ruined the entire trip.

Alex: If there is Boo bashing going on, I will stoke the fire.

Alex and Dreamz meet. Dreamz wants Boo gone and thinks they can make it happen. Alex: If Boo wins Immunity, I am sooo screwed.

    Immunity Challenge

The players each have a lane. Buried in the sand are three climbing steps. In the first stage of the challenge, the first three finishers will move on. It is really only the first two though as Boo gets three steps and is automatically in the finals due to his Reward Challenge victory.

    Reward

  • Immunity from the Tribal Council vote.

    Result

Alex, Dreamz and Boo square off in the finals where they must use the steps to climb a pole in the water and retrieve a flag. Alex tries to shimmy up the pole to no avail. Close but no cigar.

  • Winner: Boo.

    Bula Bula Pre-Tribal Council Happenings

Yau-Man: Alex must be voted out today. I feel safe because Alex is the odd man out.

    Alex: My situation is grim.

Cassandra finds Alex laying on the beach by himself. She sits with him. Alex: I have played this game like a gentleman. I just want my kids to be proud of me. Yau-Man won’t ever trust you. Alex says the time for Cassandra to make a power play is now.

Cassandra: Alex does make a strong case to take Boo and Stacy.

Cassandra, Dreamz and Earl sit and listen to Alex’s scheme to boot Yau-Man. Cassandra and Dreamz seem to be considering it. Earl keeps winking to Dreamz to let him know he won’t entertain the ideas Alex is offering up.

Earl: I was just playing along. I hope they were too. I would never betray Yau-Man. I would rather vote Alex’s ass out right now and risk Yau-Man playing the Immunity Idol.

Rita Repulsa tells Dreamz and Cassandra that she will vote out Yau-Man. She will do whatever Cassandra wants her too. Rita: I follow Cassandra.

Cassandra: I have a serious choice to make and right now, I am undecided.

Earl and Cassandra discuss things. Earl: I don’t know what you guys are doing but I am writing down…A-L-E-X.

Cassandra: If we blindside Yau-Man, we will be blindsiding Earl as well.

    Tribal Council Happenings

Alex is feeling the heat. He believe people should think about who they want to be sitting with in the end. Yau trusts his alliance. Dreamz believes it is possible Alex could swing some votes. Yau is sure the final six will feel the pressure. Alex is shocked people are thinking ahead. Jeff Probst asks them one by one if they feel concerned. Everyone but Alex says they aren’t. Alex votes for Yau-Man. Alex: Nothing personal. I am just trying to stay as long as I can. Yau-Man writes down Alex‘s name. Yau-Man: It is finally time for you to go.

    Final Voting

    1. Cassandra Franklin: Alex.
    2. Earl Cole: Alex.
    3. Yau-Man Chan: Alex.
    4. 'Boo' Bernis: Alex.
    5. Stacy Kimball: Alex.
    6. 'Dre' Herd: Alex.
    7. Alex Angarita: Yau-Man.

    Tribal Council Victim: Alex Angarita.

Final Words: "I played this game to the best of my ability. I gave it 110 percent every single day I was out here. For all those kids out there who think their situation is hopeless, remember to never stop dreaming, never stop fighting. You can and will amaze yourself. I think the six remaining members are living in a dream world if they think they won’t have to backstab each other. Things are going to get very ugly. " - Alex Angarita.

On the next 'Survivor': Television. : Yau-Man is in trouble. Dreamz asks Stacy and Cassandra to help him vote Yau-Man out. Yau-Man tells Earl he has a very bad feeling about things. At challenge, it appears that Yau-Man wants to make a deal with Dreamz. Probst: You want to risk that?

On the next 'Survivor': CBS Internet. : One Survivor surprises everyone when they attempt to use their Reward as a bargaining chip. The tribe is left in a state of shock when one Survivor reveals their decision of who to send to Exile Island. One Survivor creates a hidden path to eavesdrop on conversations, while back at camp, others plot to take him out of the game.

    Powell's Thoughts:

  • The episode next week is entitled: “I Want to see if I Can Make a Deal”. It is the episode everyone has been waiting to see. It is time for the Car Challenge and Probst has said that some serious negotiations occur. Probst: “The car challenge plays an instrumental role in this season, a huge role." The rumour mill stated a long time ago that Yau-Man would win the truck and then use it as collateral to barter with someone else. The pact will ruin both people’s chances at a million dollars. Yes, folks. The Car Curse will live on.

  • Word is there is no challenge involving the friends and loved ones of the players this season. It seems the coup taking place at the time of filming prohibited that.

  • The other Hidden Immunity Idol will likely be found but probably won’t affect a Tribal Council vote.

  • Yau-Man is in big, big trouble. The others really want that Idol out of his hands and could force him to play it at Tribal Council.

  • Jeff Probst is promising that we will finally learn whether Dreamz has being playing a brilliant strategy or just bumbling along throughout the entire series soon enough.
