TV Show: Tom Green

Ottawa comic Tom Green in Letterman guest shot
By JIM SLOTEK

NEW YORK (CP) -- Ottawa-born shock comic Tom Green made his first appearance on Late Show with David Letterman Wednesday, but didn't pull any of the outrageous stunts that have made him famous.

Green, 27, has become known for antics like painting his parents' house plaid, dynamiting cactus plants in Mexico, scuba diving for pennies in Ottawa shopping mall fountains and sucking milk straight from a cow.

On Letterman, he showed a video in which he painted his parents' car, transforming it into a "slutmobile."

"They were not amused," Green told Letterman. "But they get over it after a few days because they walk around the community of Ottawa, people come up to them and they sympathize with them."

The Tom Green Show originated on a local cable channel in Ottawa in 1994 and was picked up by the Comedy Network a year ago. Green now has a program on MTV in the United States on Monday nights as well.
