OTTAWA -- Stuntman Tom Green stirred a raging debate over the identity of the woman accompanying him on his latest antics.
Local radio show host Lowell Green spent hours on his morning show on CFRA arguing Tom had "duped" all major media outlets in the national capital Region.
"He says she's Monica Lewinsky. I say she's Sharon Iverson. Who do you believe?" said Lowell.
Imposter?
Lowell believes the woman with Tom Green is an imposter who is really a small-time actress from Santa Maria, Calif.
But Comedy Network publicist Scott Henderson insists it's the real Monica who's touring the capital with Tom.
"I can tell you with absolute certainty that it is her," he said.
"I can't provide you with DNA evidence or anything like that, but there is an established record that she has been involved with people involved with the Tom Green Show for some time now."
Pulling a prank
But Lowell isn't saying how he knows Lewinsky is an imposter.
"I can't reveal my sources. I'm a journalist. You know that," said Lowell. "I just happen to know."
But Mike Murphy, Lowell's producer at CFRA, said Lowell may be trying to pull a prank of his own.
"He's usually not very serious," said Murphy.
"He said he called Customs, because supposedly everyone that passes customs has to leave their name. Supposedly they said it was not Monica. She used a different name and used a different passport.
"But whether he was serious I don't know. It could all have been a joke."
A representative from the American Screen Actors Guild, a union that most American actors belong to, searched their database and said there was no Sharon Iverson listed as a member.
The stage-name Green claimed she uses -- Sharon Ivy -- didn't turn up, either.
