TV Show: Tom Green

Tom & Drew deliver prank
By CAROLINE MURRAY

OTTAWA -- Even while on vacation, a prank-prone Tom Green and his blonde bombshell bride Drew Barrymore couldn't resist staging another stunt in the nation's capital yesterday.

The newlyweds emerged from Green's parents' Gloucester home in the afternoon with Barrymore dressed as an alien. The costume included a Pizza Pizza box and a tinfoil mask.

The brief spectacle saw Green kiss his petite alien on the head as she laughed and flashed her wedding ring to a Sun photographer.

While Barrymore never removed her disguise, her cover was blown by a distinctive tattoo on her big toe. Internet fan sites devoted to Barrymore list the half-moon tattoo as one of several on the actress' body.

Later, the prank-prone comic tried to pull another fast one, draping a sheet over a friend and sneaking her out of the building in hopes of luring the Sun away from the home. But Sun photographer Tony Caldwell, still hungry for a shot of Barrymore, didn't take the bait. After a spin around the block, Green returned, draped the real Barrymore in ghostly attire, and sped off.

The much-watched Hollywood couple probably had reason to be skittish. Earlier, three police cruisers descended on the house after a woman was spotted peering in their window.

Green has been playing tricks on the public for years. Since becoming a hot item early last year, he and Barrymore spent months teasing the press about their marriage plans.

More recently, Green told the Tonight Show they were expecting a baby. The next day, he recanted the statement on Entertainment Tonight.

Orleans love nest?

The lovebirds tied the knot last month in California. Yet, the wedding band-wearing comic was still unwilling to admit as much yesterday, saying with an impressively straight face: "We're getting married in two months."

The marriage is the first for Green, 30, and second for Barrymore, 26.

The shenanigans also continued yesterday with Green insisting he and his wife were leaving lavish Los Angeles for, well, Ottawa. "We're getting a place out in Orleans," said Green. "I miss home and stuff."

Green spent part of yesterday skateboarding around the city with his old pal, Phil Giroux. The gross-out comic said he's wrapping up a month of holidays which saw him and Barrymore visit Ontario tourist sites like Marineland, Canada's Wonderland, the Thousand Islands, Ste. Marie Among the Hurons and Upper Canada Village.
