OTTAWA -- Mallrats were surprised to find a new addition to their favourite hangout this weekend -- Tom Green and Drew Barrymore.

The celebrities dropped some dough at a skateboard shop and grabbed some lunch while at the Place d'Orleans Shopping Centre on Saturday.

"It was pretty exciting," said Caroline Gravelle, a West 49 employee who served the couple.

Green spent $300 on a Black Label skateboard for himself and an accessory belt and mud-bead necklace for Barrymore, she said.

"They were just like two normal customers," said Gravelle.

Justin Coe enjoyed a similar experience after he approached the couple's table at Market Fresh and asked them for their autographs. Green and Barrymore were attracting attention from other customers despite their efforts to keep a low profile.

Green had a salad and some chocolate milk while Barrymore ate an egg salad sandwich.

The actress -- who signed her name Drew Barrymore Green -- told her admirer how much she liked Ottawa.
