Rush guitarist set for TV comedy
By BILL HARRIS - Sun Media

Gee, isn't this what Trailer Park Boys should have been called in the first place?

The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour (working title) is the new TV series from Mike Smith, Robb Wells and J.P. Tremblay, a.k.a., Bubbles, Ricky and Julian from Trailer Park Boys. Showcase has green-lit the new show for six half-hour episodes that will air in 2010.

The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour also will feature Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson, who appeared in a memorable episode of Trailer Park Boys a few years back.

Smith, Wells and Tremblay play actors on a children's TV show in the sleepy town of Port Cockerton called The Happy Funtime Hour. After unknowingly ingesting a powerful hallucinogen made from local berries, the boys start to believe that they actually are the characters they portray on the kiddie show.
