Stratford taps Cullen for 2010 season
By -- Sun Media

Sean Cullen, Paul Nolan and Mike Shara were among the names announced yesterday as more casting for the 2010 season of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival was revealed.

Cullen, who stepped in to replace an ailing Bruce Dow in this season’s production of A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum, will return next year to essay the role of Smee in Peter Pan and Vinnie, the Master of Ceremonies, in George F. Walker’s King of Thieves.

Paul Nolan, who played Tony in this season’s production of West Side Story, will play Orlando in As You Like It, while Shara has been cast as Oliver in the same production, as well as the Young Shepherd in The Winter’s Tale.

Sophia Walker, meanwhile, has been recruited to play Julia in The Two Gentlemen of Verona, replacing Nikki James, who withdrew for personal reasons, but no announcement has yet been made as to who will replace her as Ariel opposite Christopher Plummer’s Prospero in The Tempest.
