'Beckham' musical on the way

Bend it Like Beckham

Keira Knightley's breakout movie Bend It Like Beckham is to be transformed into a West End and Broadway musical.

The British beauty shot to fame as a female soccer player in the 2002 movie alongside E.R. star Parminder Nagra and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

The movie's director Gurinder Chadha, who is behind the upcoming musical, says, "The script is ready to go. It's going to be on both the West End and Broadway. We are currently deciding who is the right person to write the score, so it's at a really exciting stage."
