Spice Girls emotional at premiere

The Spice Girls reunited on Tuesday to walk the red carpet for the London premiere of their new West End musical Viva Forever!

Wannabe hitmakers Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham all turned out to attend the opening night of the production, which incorporates the girl power group's greatest hits, and they couldn't contain their pride and excitement as they spoke to reporters on their big night.

Chisholm told the BBC, "We are so excited and we're so, so proud. Judy Craymer (producer) and Jennifer Saunders (writer) have done an incredible job and it's amazing, we've got loads of fans out here tonight."

Halliwell, who caught an early preview of the show, reveals watching their songs come to life onstage was "mind-blowing", insisting, "It's a dream come true for the Spice Girls. It's mind-blowing that something that we wrote in a little tiny cold studio, over 14 years ago, and then this West End cast singing our songs, we're so proud."

However, the group didn't appear to be as close as they once were - Chisholm, Bunton, Halliwell and Brown were happy to pose together for photographers, while Beckham opted to stand separately with her soccer star husband David and their kids for the press.

The band last reunited to perform at the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics over the summer.
