Meet the LOTR cast: Krystal Kiran Garib
By STEVE TILLEY -- Toronto Sun

It's a long way from B.C.'s sunny beaches to the forests of Middle-earth, but former Miss Penticton Krystal Kiran Garib has made the transition with ease -- including a stop in New York to be a part of the Broadway cast of Bombay Dreams.

The 21-year-old beauty is a member of The Lord Of The Rings swing cast, meaning she could be called upon to fill a variety of ensemble parts, and is also an understudy for the role of Aragorn's lady love, Arwen.

"It's just a humongous show," Garib said. "It's not just acting and dancing, it's everything in one."

Especially thrilling for Garib is that Bombay Dreams composer A.R. Rahman is behind the music for The Lord Of The Rings, collaborating with Christopher Nightingale and Finnish group Varttina.

"It's an honour to work with A. R. Rahman," Garib said. "He's been my inspiration since I was 8 years old."
