Meet the LOTR cast: Greg Armstrong-Morris

Greg Armstrong-Morris has done everything from Shakespeare to Hedwig And The Angry Inch, but nothing quite prepared him for his role in The Lord Of The Rings as an ent: a walking, talking tree-man.

Strutting around on three metre-high stilts "was and remains the biggest challenge," said Armstrong-Morris, 42. The ent-playing cast members are attached to safety cables, but they don't actually help them maintain their balance.

"There's a danger of falling, there's no danger of hitting," said Armstrong-Morris. "That's the key."

Born near Windsor, Armstrong-Morris spent 10 years working in Toronto before heading to Vancouver. He's thrilled to be back home, especially for something as grand as LOTR.

"Its easy to talk about the stilt-walking and the effects and the lighting, but at the core of it all, it's all about the story."

PLAYS: Hobbit, Ent, Warrior Of The Dead, Citizen Of Gondor, Bilbo (understudy), Gaffer (understudy)
