Play Review: A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum
Funny Thing lives up to name but is uneven
EDMONTON -- Stephen Sondheim says it best in the opening moments of this literate and lively romp. "Something familiar, something peculiar, something for everyone - a comedy tonight."
Sondheim and his collaborators, Larry Gelbart (creator of M*A*S*H) and Larry Shevelove, decided to go back to the work of Plautus and see what all those ancient Romans thought was so funny.
