Play Review: Beaten to Death By Gorillas

Gorillas nearly missed
EDMONTON -- Beaten to Death by Gorillas is something of a primate's breakfast.

 It's not really a play at all but a fanciful comic monologue from a fan of old-time movies - only staged with actors. It's similar to the Fringe fave, ad-lib comedy duo Atomic Improv. Someone in the audience might shout out: "Movies, gorillas and deconstructionist philosophy,'' and the two (Paul Mather and Donovan Workun) would come up with bits of Indiana Jones, Heart of Darkness and Tarzan and the Green Goddess to create a comic dialogue.
