EDMONTON -- Noel Coward penned Blithe Spirit in the darkest days of the Second World War. He dashed the thing off in five days and it proved to be just what the world needed at the time - a good laugh.
Well, we still need a good laugh and Coward's "improbable farce'' has weathered well in the 50 years since he wrote it. No one really acts (or talks) that way except in Coward's urbane world, but a visit there, courtesy of Shadow Theatre's new production, is as droll and refreshing as ever it was.
