Play Review: Bridge
Bridge has high points, but goes nowhere
WINNIPEG -- The title The Bridge implies that local music impresario Danny Schur's full-scale musical is a benign Canadian response to The Wall, Pink Floyd's bleak rock opus.
As The Wall reflected composer Roger Waters' alienation from his audience and the world, that aptly describes the mental state of The Bridge's troubled hero Danny Michaelson (Jeff Riley), frontman of Blue Velvet, "the world's most successful rock band."
