Play Review: The Blue Room

Blue Room titillates but fails to satisfy
WINNIPEG -- As The Blue Room's aristocrat says at the end of David Hare's celebrated play, it would have been so romantic if all he'd done was kiss his lover's face.

Specifically, he'd rather he hadn't paid cash for the drunken shag-athon he now can't remember. Oh well. It's not romance, but sex that makes the world go 'round in the MTC Warehouse production from Montreal director Guy Sprung. And like most one-night stands, it's a bit of fun, but ultimately not as satisfying as we'd hoped.
