Play Review: Damp Fury
Damp Fury a weightless diversion
EDMONTON -- The tipoff is Alfred Newman's familiar 20th Century Fox fanfare. Ah yes, Damp Fury is going to be another from the Stewart Lemoine canon of reworked old movies.
And, sure enough, before the final fade-out we've seen a crazy quilt of Rain, Miss Sadie Thompson, Hawaii and any number of water-logged '30s Dorothy Lamour South Sea epics. Of course, with Lemoine's trademark playfully recycled dialogue delivered by the smoothest-working company east of Bora Bora.
