Play Review: Dracula
Fangs for the memories
TORONTO -- Aside from the story's perennial box office appeal, there are only really two reasons for a contemporary artist to tackle a retelling of Bram Stoker's Dracula.
The first -- to terrify one's audience -- is frankly the least compelling, especially in a world where a surfeit of befanged Counts have turned most of the twisted tale's boos into booga-boogas.
