Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People retains much of its power 120 years after it was written.
The work addresses such basic human qualities as courage, conviction and truth. And before I give you the impression that we are visiting some kind of dusty dramatic museum here, let me assure you that the accessible and colloquial translation by David Young, now running on the Citadel Theatre's Maclab Stage, puts a contemporary spin on the original without surrendering any of Ibsen's wit or passion.
