Play Review: Good Is Good Evil Is Bad

The good, the bad & the cheap jokes
TORONTO - An expressionist "Blue Man" spoof extols the virtues of "Schlegel, the Shakespeare of Germany." Trapped coalminers debate the comedic effectiveness of "fart jokes" versus "irony." And two words: "Pope Shaniqua."

If nothing else, the new Second City Mainstage revue Good Is Good, Evil Is Bad, finds the troupe thinking a few degrees outside the box in a quest for laughs. That the execution wasn't always sure-footed on opening night Wednesday puts even most of the bits that didn't work into the category of noble failure.
