STRATFORD -- One of the highlights of a weekend celebrating the 50th season of the Stratford Festival, Governor General Adrienne Clarkson presided over Saturday's opening of the new Festival Studio Theatre in Stratford.

An intimate 250 seat theatre located at the rear of the Festival's newly refurbished Avon Theatre, the Festival Studio Theatre boasts a thrust stage that echoes the 1953 Tanya Moiseiwitsch design already in use in the Festival Theatre and the Tom Patterson Theatre.
