Strong performances in Homesick
EDMONTON -- Conni Massing writes plays about Alberta. There is no doubting the form and attitudes of her characters and the words they speak. From Remoka Rink, a work about hockey in small-town Alberta, to the Citadel's hugely entertaining production of The Aberhart Summer, her plays grow from pure Western soil.

 She has a great ear for dialogue and can fire off salvos of one-liners and zingers that come, not from the pursuit of the easy laugh, but out of the sharply observed way that Prairie people talk and behave.
