Play Review: Human Voice

Strong Voice, but weak Song
STRATFORD, Ont. -- When the lights come down at the end of the double bill that opened at the Stratford Festival's Studio Theatre this weekend, you are left with a lingering question.

Is it the late Jean Cocteau (and by extension, his elegant translator, John Murrell) who is the most ill-served in programming Cocteau's simple and powerful The Human Voice with the work of a neophyte playwright?
