Play Review: Hump

Hump! a smart and witty lampoon
EDMONTON -- If poor Richard Plantaganet - better known as Richard III - could withstand 400 years of Shakespearean defamation he would probably get a kick out of Hump!, an ingenious send-up from Panties Productions now playing at the New Varscona.

History tells us (despite the Shakespearean hatchet job) that Richard III was probably no worse than any other English king of the period but the Bard needed a misshapen villain, "cheated of feature by dissembling nature, deform'd, unfinish'd, sent before my time into this breathing world, scarce half-made up.''
