Play Review: Hysterica
Deconstruction
TORONTO - As theatre, Hysterica is far more interesting for its process than it is for its product.
The latest work from Richard Rose and his Necessary Angel Theatre Company and described as "a collectively created free adaptation of (Shakespeare's) King Lear," it is a work that has been in development for more than half a decade. In that time, director and cast have deconstructed the Bard's classic and attempted to rebuild it as a contemporary tale of family turmoil.
